I am interested in history, politics and international affairs, Scottish literature, language and culture, and all these themes appear in my work for adults. Julia Donaldson, the 2011-2013 Children's Laureate, is the outrageously talented, prize-winning author of the world's most-loved picture books including The Gruffalo and What the Ladybird Heard. Resources to accompany the Scots versions of Julia Donaldson’s classic children’s book The Gruffalo. Translated by James Robertson and published by Itchy Coo, this new edition of "The Gruffalo" has been approved by Julia Donaldson and will delight both children and adults alike. His novel The Testament of Gideon Mack was long-listed for the Man Booker Prize in 2006 and featured on the Richard and Judy Book Club in 2007.Everybody loves The Gruffalo and now you can enjoy this children's classic for the very first time in Scots.

In 2019 we marked the 20th anniversary of The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson with a very special Authors Live broadcast during Book Week Scotland. James Robertson reads his Scots translation of The Gruffalo, and Catriona Lexy Campbell brings the Gaelic translation, An Gruffalo, to life.These materials were used when Education Scotland and Into Film held Scots Language Through Film events in these areas. Translated by James Robertson and published by Itchy Coo, this new edition has been approved by Julia Donaldson and will delight both children and adults alike. We also hear from lots of pupils all around the country who share their favourite Scots and Gaelic words!
