About this deal

I think this author has potential but they need better beta readers to help them consolidate and deliver all the information that's in their head for this universe. Reading through Cade, well that showed me how strong a person he is. He has the whole 'bad boy' exterior going for him but behind closed doors with the people he loves, he is so much more than that and it's a softness I loved reading about. It also showed how hopelessly in love he is with our Ella. I swear, the man is the epitome of a simp if I've ever seen one and of course, that just made me love him all the more. He's older, cunning, and completely irresistible. He deceived me one fateful night and now I'm utterly captivated. I just want to start off by saying that i had the pleasure of getting an early ARC of this book and i can quite honestly say that it was most definitely one of my most favourite five star reads this year!

Trapped with You is about a couple, Cade and Ella, w The city of Montardor is Zeno’s personal chess board and he will stop at nothing to make me his queen. Darla's character was so well written and developed (so was Zeno's character for that matter) and i loved seeing them interact together.

Through out the book we also receive several easter eggs for the future books in not only this series but another. I personally can’t wait for Darla´s story! (or you know, all of them - but I'm keeping my obsessed fan behaviour to a minimum as of now.) The first 50% of this book was pretty good for a debut novel. Unfortunately, as I kept reading, my interest in the characters and their story faded. The book itself is set in 2014, where we meet 18-year-old Ella Ximena Cordova and Cade Killian Remington. Tell me you can’t imagine a world where I don’t exist, because I can’t imagine mine without you. You’re my sunrise. You’re my moonlight.” I need me a man like Zeno 🥵 Corrupted By You is set in the fictional city of Montardor and follows Darla, Principal of St Victoria, and Zeno, the heir of the De la Croix empire. This book is quite different, in my opinion, to a normal mafia romance book, as in the plot line isn’t based on a mafia or like a gang and it’s one thing i liked about it. It’s a dark romance and had the same themes that a mafia book would have in relation to the darker themes.

The story starts off with Darla and Zeno meeting at a sex club and almost instantly they both feel something towards each other, not quite love at first say per-say but something more on the lines of an unexplainable attraction. ALSO, this book is supposed to be set in Canada but the ages, phrases/terms, and general vibe are very American. He totally was obsessed with Darla from the moment he laid eyes on her, and then when they were arranged to be married, this man became possessive and protective over his girl in a heartbeat. Another thing about Zeno was that he could instantly tell how Darla was always so self conscious about certain aspects of herself or her life and this man would tell her all the time how beautiful and amazing she is until she finally started to believe it herself and i also think he made her more comfortable in her own self and gave her the confidence boost she needed to see herself in a different light, and it’s another thing i love about them. I absolutely loved this book the way Zeno was completely entranced by Darla the second she called him beautiful their dynamic was everythinggggg the way Zeno never stopped fighting for her whether it was protecting her from enemies or pinning after her because of an argument and when he found out he was pregnant 🥹 I died his endless love for her and her endless love for him proves that I will be lonely forever ☹️ And I can’t finish this review without mentioning the absolute loves of my life: Nate, Nico and Sam. Yeah, I’d die for them. I really liked the cameos of other characters we’ll hopefully be seeing in the future.Authors, if you are a member of the Goodreads Author Program, you can edit information about your own books. Find out how in this guide. This man is a total softie on the inside and i will be a firm believer in this forever. Zeno is, to outside world, a cold and intimidating man, but he’s someone who would do anything to protect his family and those he loves, and it’s really shown how much he loves and cares about each of his family members with the way he would defend them and even kill for them. It’s obvious that his family is important to him and that made me love him even more. But then I found out that it's a debut novel and I was very confused. I felt like the author wrote this book without realizing that the reader doesn't know this universe like they do. At times I liked these overly poetic and descriptive passages, but overall there were a bit too many of them. Many could've been cut shorter and condensed into one sentence in my opinion. To be fair though, there were also many, many quotes I absolutely adored and I highlighted more than in any book so far this year, but still it didn't balance these lengthy paragraphs.

What was it about the dark that made it so much easier to confess our secrets? Was it the reassurance that if you could not be seen, you could not be judged?"Zeno Gianni De la Croix is the devil in disguise. He's older, cunning, and completely irresistible. He deceived me one fateful night and now I'm utterly captivated. Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve lived under the scrutiny of Montardor’s elite society and played by every one of my mother’s rules until I became the quintessential daughter.

my only complaint is that i felt they had very less fluffy and wholesome scenes without the sexual aspect ( and i understand that some couples express their love through intimacy or sex) but im a girl who prefers both the sweet moments and the dark debauchery sex. There’s a lot of things i love about Darla and the main one is her strength and her heart. This girl went through a lot with her mother growing up and she still has the biggest heart ever. The way she chose to forgive those around her, and gave them second chances, even when they probably didn’t deserve it, was admirable in itself. do you ever stalk author’s social media after you finish their book? cuz that’s what i did and learned that she has more books on her wattpad that might be released this year. i’m so freaking excited for those books because just with this one book Marzy Opal became one of my favourite authors. i really wanna read more about the side characters in this book. The way I know this author has a gift, is that she made me – an otherwise frustrated pessimist in love at age 13, into a hopeless romantic. How did she do this? All with the simple strokes of her keyboard when writing books. Because I want to take care of you in ways others failed to do,” … “This isn’t another cage, Darla. This is your freedom.” ~
